We focus on the deeper foundations of thriving communities: strong relationships, shared vision, local leadership, and citizen-driven initiatives built on the passions, gifts, and strengths of residents.

What You Can Do
There are many ways to believe in, support, and get involved with community empowerment in the Coastal Bend.
1. Believe In Community
Believe that all communities are capable of thriving and that relationships are their most important asset. Believe that their shared vision and their collective strengths, wisdom, and creativity are the power for change.
2. Care About Empowerment
Have a heart for building the sustainable capacity of whole communities rather than just filling the endless unmet needs of individuals; for doing “with” rather than just “for” them; and for organizing and empowering rather than just offering services.
3. Create a “Movement”
Help us create a movement among social service providers and faith communities that expands the paradigm from just rescuing individuals to building the capacity of their communities.

Tell others about us when you get the opportunity.
5. Make Opportunities
Make opportunities to tell others about us. Use our Facebook page.
6. Get Us Together
Invite others to meet with you and our Executive Director about getting on the “bus.”
7. Look for Support
Help us find financial, programmatic, and volunteer support to fuel the CBCE “bus.”

Donate financially to the work of community empowerment.

Volunteer to help as a Dream Team member, a participant on an Action Team, a website manager, an event coordinator, or a Board Member.

A legacy gift is a beautiful way to care for CBCE’s mission in the future while continuing to invest in neighbors, families, and communities across the Coastal Bend. It allows you to leave a lasting expression of your values and generosity, often through plans you make today that do not affect your current finances.
One of the easiest ways to make a legacy gift is by including CBCE in your will or revocable living trust. You can choose the type of gift that feels right for you, such as a specific amount, a percentage of your estate, a particular asset, or a gift from what remains after your loved ones are provided for. Your attorney can help include the right language so your wishes are clear and simple to carry out.
There are also other ways to create a legacy gift. Some supporters name CBCE as a beneficiary of a retirement account, life insurance policy, donor-advised fund, or other financial account. Others choose options such as charitable trusts or gifts of appreciated assets. These approaches can offer flexibility and may help you care for both the people you love and the mission you want to continue supporting.
